Unfettered, the bird's song flies
across the mighty Yangtze and the autumn fields.
If you feel compelled by Tao to run,
give way, to the Way.

~inspired by Deng Meng-Dao

What does it feel like to be one with Tao? It is effortless, a sense of flowing, sweeping momentum. It is the bird's song, soaring towards the heavens, gliding over a perfect landscape. This can be felt in your life as well: events will take on the perfect amount of momentum You can feel the shift in your bones. The energy will rise up, reaching a glorious crescendo, setting each and every nerve bundle aglow. Your spirit will also be stirred: you will have entered a state of perfect grace, resounding off of the walls of a newly realized reality. You will become like the ephemeral bird's song, drifting towards heaven.

When Tao comes to you, in this way, ride the current for as long as you are able. Do not interfere with the movement. Do not stop - that will certainly bring failure, alienation, and regret. Do not attempt to direct Tao for your own selfish use. Let it flow, and follow it. When Tao is with you, put aside all other concerns. As long as the song lasts, follow the music. Just follow the music.
