Poetic Flashback - 08'

Spectacular failure
finding inspiration
in a cesspool
of random conversation.
People bogged down
by the weight of today-
how do we find reason
within random existence?
It all works out-
the end.

aggressive
anomalies
and
assumptions

the
astral-plane.

Simplicity is preferrable
to an environment cluttered with complexity.

A portal to Tomorrow
lays open at the Gates of Fortune;
to risk all on the outcome
means participating wholly;
too much to be lost,
with little hope of success-
to split now, and go back
to the status quo
is utterly enticing
but must not
or you'll never know...
you'll never,
no.

Stories
told only to entertain
ourselves and others
while we pass the time.
Aware of the facts of life
evident in pervasive chaos.
From static, comes focus:
Alive, and well;
optimal existence.

Poetry fails me, when it comes to true introspection. Hidden within the rhyming schemes and alliteration is a voice half-muffled, unable to truly come to grasps with the true significance of the message. True expression does not hide condemnation. Recollections are made anew, through rosy-hued rearrangements, to romanticize the past. Where does a hefty dose of disgust come into the equation? Brought in by self-deprecation, inwardly-directed recrimination, and a steady supply of mind-numbing monotony. Alas, I realize...

Ohaya sumimasen,
good night to the foolish world
dreaming of it,
now and then
and wondering how it came unfurled.
Tipping the scales,
into negativity,
takes us by the throat.
Figuring out, positivity,
amazed that we're still afloat.
Statements of innocence
fell on deaf ears
guilt in past tense
back so many years.
Step up, and tell your story well
we all await your private hell.
