Resolve - 解決 - Jiějué

Overcome uncertainty-
re-affirm your strength.
Resolve to hold fast-

expecting death
without fear.

~inspired by Deng Ming-Dao

Make a stand today, on this very spot. Make every action count. Do not falter, remain determined to fulfill your destiny. Do not follow the destiny outlined in an ancient book or remote shrine; find inspiration from the world, but create your own future.

Your resolve to tread carefully on life's path is your best asset. Without that, you would die. Now, of course death is inevitable, but I speak of an early death resulting from a loss of will. Do not try to pass on, before your time is up. As long as you can keep going, use your imagination to cope with strife. Overcome any obstacles in your way, and realize the future you have envisioned.

Each day passed is twenty-four hours you cannot reclaim. The time to make achievements becomes more precious when you think like this. You must fulfill everything you want in life, then release your will the moment death arrives. Your life is a creation that dies with your physical form. Release it, give up your earthly individuality, and finally, by doing so, merge with Tao.

Until that moment, seize the day, the hour, and particularly this very moment. Your mind will clear itself of debris, allowing you to craft a life worth of poetry with toughness and determination.
