Delayed Daily Musing - April 28th, 2013 - Abundance - 豐富 - Fēngfù

Abundance - 豐富 - Fēngfù

Stars in heaven,
abundant energy outwardly radiating.
Supremely successful

in the chaos of impermanence.

The mid-day sun at its zenith. The hottest, brightest beacon in the sky. At one point each day, the sun reaches the pinnacle of power, and then it ebbs away and fades beneath the horizon. In the everyday affairs of humanity, this type of cycle happens as well. At some point, we combine our strength and intellect, revealing stunning brilliance. This does not last, however, as there will also be times of discord. Abundance cannot be opposed any more than scarcity.

Periods of abundance are times for vigorous action. Bright light shows not only upon the good but upon the bad as well. Therefore, where evil is revealed, all good people must do their part to pluck it out. Ripped from the earth by its roots, evil must not be allowed to grow if one hopes to promote the good.

Abundance is a cause for celebration, but the wise are also cautious not to be overly indulgent. No zenith can be preserved indefinitely. Nothing in life is permanent, so the wise among us enjoy and are made glad by abundance, but they also prepare for lean times ahead. Take advantage of this time, but also look forward to what will follow.
